The project questions the relationship between space and collaborative research processes. What is space in a comprehensive, integrative sense? How do physical, digital, social and cultural rooms shape our actions, knowledge and communications? According to which principles can spaces of interdisciplinary research be formed and modelled?
These questions have been the subject of investigation in our unusual environment since April 2015. Forty scientists from various disciplines have cooperated in the Experimental Zone, whilst also finding themselves the objects of observation. Various room configurations have been set up, tested and observed as part of monthly experimental settings. Thus, not only has the space itself or forms of collaboration been the subject of research, but also the possibilities of an experimentalisation of space.
