Interdisciplinary Laboratory

David Knötel has a Bachelor’s degree and a Master’s in Computer Science with a major in Algorithmics from Freie Universität Berlin. He has been a research associate at the Zuse Institute Berlin since November 2014. His research interests include the visualisation of biological structures, in particular segmentation methods and statistical shape models.

His work in the Interdisciplinary Laboratory aims to morphologically analyse crustacean species. To this end, he is developing three-dimensional shape analyses and applying these in conjunction with statistical shape models.
