David Messinger is a professional costume designer and dressmaker. After seven years' employment in French, Belgian and German opera and theatre, he came to Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin in 2013 to study European Ethnology and Business Management. His research interests centre on the anthropology of organisations, business and medicine. As a student assistant at the Federal Ministry of Education and Research project »BeMobil«, he researches the interaction of man and technology in the area of rehabilitation. Within the sub-project »Health and Gestaltung« of the Interdisciplinary Laboratory Image Knowledge Gestaltung he uses ethnographical methods to tackle the question of the doctor-patient interface as the location of an interactional construction of the understanding of health and illness.
