Franziska Wegener studied European Ethnology, German Literature, and Film Studies in Berlin and Istanbul. She completed her graduate degree in European Ethnology at the Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin in 2015. Her Master’s thesis, titled »Making Colonial History Audible,« dealt with historical representations in the German Historical Museum and with the medium Audioguide as a form of extra-institutional intervention.

She is responsible for the support and integration of research associates, supervising the BMBF’s Deutschlandstipendium-Themenklasse, managing cooperations between schools, and coordinating the doctoral program as well as internal professional training courses.
