Henriette Vogel is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Social and Cultural Anthropology at the Freie Universität zu Berlin, focusing on ethnomedicine and psychological anthropology. During her undergraduate studies at the University Hildesheim and the Martin-Luther-Universität Halle-Wittenberg, she focused on the fields of Ethnology, French and English Cultural Studies as well as Translation. During this time she developed a special interest in medical care for vulnerable groups and translation procedures in the context of medical treatment in intercultural settings. Her regional specialty is West Africa.

She has been working as a student assistant in the project »Em•pa•thy« since February 2017, undertaking organisation tasks and contributing to the project’s ethnographic research. The objective of the project’s ethnological approach to the lives of the chronically ill is to enable, inform, motivate, and thus empower patients to participate in the treatment processes.
