Jonathan Haid

Jonathan Haid has been working on his Master’s in Cultural Studies at the Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin since 2015. As an undergraduate, he studied Social Sciences and Philosophy with a concentration in Cultural Studies in Leipzig and Rio de Janeiro.

For his undergraduate dissertation, he examined the function of photography within occult experimental set-ups around 1900.

He is also interested in the epistemological conditions and cultural/historical contexts in processes of gaining new knowledge where appliances and media play key roles.

As a Germany Scholarship holder, he is studying the traditions of interactive animation technologies in the history of science that are currently applied in functional morphology. In the project »Image Guidance«, he will reconstruct the histories of their development and investigate the extent to which their synergies influence modes of recognition.
