Lothar Koppers

Lothar Koppers studied surveying at the Universität der Bundeswehr Munich and was awarded a doctorate in 1993 in the field of 3D town models. He has lectured in geo-information systems and digital image processing at Anhalt University of Applied Sciences since 2003. As a generalist in spatial studies, he is concerned with questions of demographic change, infrastructure planning, e.g., in care and health sectors and with respect to renewable energies and building structures.

He has amassed experience in practical projects through his involvement with municipalities and rural districts, clinics, administrations, business, churches and planning authorities; and in research projects for the Federal Ministry of Education and Research, Land ministries (mainly Bavaria, Saxony and Saxony-Anhalt) and companies. As a member of the Bavarian Landtag Study Commission »Equivalent living conditions throughout Bavaria« he is experienced in applying academic findings to policy.
