Martin Kallmeyer studied Sociology and Gender Studies in Hannover, Bielefeld, and Berlin. In his thesis, he investigated the production of an artificial bacterium in synthetic biology (»Synthia«) to examine the entangled relationship between experimental production and gender studies. He continued pursuing this subject in his dissertation by investigating the intricate ontological modes of technological and biological materialities in the Life Sciences, specifically from the standpoint of the cultural sciences and gender studies. He was a scientific investigator under the Chair of Gender & Science Institut für Geschichtswissenschaft of the Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin 2015 to 2016.
Research interests: new feminist materialism, gender & science studies.
