Matière a Penser

A collaboration project of the Helmholtz Centre for Cultural Techniques and the Centre Alexandre-Koyré, Paris.

Time frame: October 2012 to June 2015, funded by the Franco-German University and CIERA

Participants: Charlotte Bigg, Andrée Bergeron (both in Paris) and Jochen Hennig (Berlin)

The international research network brought together researchers, museum staff and curators at reading workshops, exhibition visits and conferences. The events focused on the relationship between science, science and research communication, and science policy, exploring this relationship through case studies of specific objects and the analysis of spatial organisation in scientific and research-based exhibitions and museums. The case studies ranged between the 19th and 20th centuries to the present day.
