Peter Galison is Joseph Pellegrino University Professor at the Department of History of Science and Director of the Collection of Historical Scientific Instruments at Harvard University. In 1997, Peter Galison was named John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation Fellow. In 1999, he won the Max Planck Research Prize given by the Max Planck Society and Humboldt Foundation. 

Research interests

Peter Galison is interested in the intersection of philosophical and historical questions. He explores the complex interaction between the three principal subcultures of twentieth century physics: experimentation, instrumentation and theory.
