Thomas Lilge

Roles
Interdisciplinary Laboratory

Thomas Lilge studied Theatre Studies and Philosophy at Freie Universität Berlin and Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin. In his dissertation project, he is examining theatre laboratories and models of stages with particular focus on the intersection of art and science.

In collaboration with other research units of the Excellence Cluster, Thomas Lilge is developing a toolkit for facilitating innovative monitoring and controlling techniques. This involves the construction of a laboratory within the Interdisciplinary Laboratory. Drawing on a comparative cultural history perspective, he will observe the diverse interdisciplinary design processes taking place within the Excellence Cluster.

His research interests centre on the conditions that facilitate innovation, viewed from a historical and philosophy of science perspective. Further, he explores the contemporary challenges that face knowledge management.

He is a research associate of the Interdisciplinary Laboratory’s projects »Experiment & Observation« and »Gesundheit (Health) & Gestaltung«.
